Car Inspect is committed to protecting your privacy. This Privacy Statement applies to carinspect.com.au intended for use by consumers (the “Site”) and governs all data collection and usage through the Site. By using the Site, you signify your consent to the data practices described in this Privacy Statement and agree that your visit and any dispute over privacy is subject to the Terms and Conditions for the Site, including but not limited to, the terms regarding limitations on Car Inspect's liabilities and application by Australian Law, all of which are incorporated herein by reference. Defined terms used herein and not otherwise defined shall have the meanings ascribed thereto in Car Inspect's Terms and Conditions. You should check this Privacy Statement frequently for any changes. Information Collected

When submitting a pre-purchase vehicle inspection on the Site, you will be prompted to disclose certain information about yourself and your used vehicle inspection requirements. This includes, but is not necessarily limited to, your name, mailing address, email address, phone number, payment card information (for the purchase of Car Inspect's third party inspection service,) inspection details, used vehicle location, used vehicle details (e.g., Vehicle Identification Number), Seller information and any personalized message included in your request. If you call a telephone number provided on the Site, Car Inspect may record the date, time and phone number from which the call originated, along with other information that may be captured. All such captured information may be used as described in this Privacy Statement.

On the Site and in follow up marketing related email communication, the Customer is given the option of agreeing to receive a quote for finance. By checking the box “Yes Please” to the question “Need help with finance” OR by clicking the related link in the buyer report email you agree to Car Inspect providing our third party business associate Drive On Finance (ABN 77 608 377 859) with those personal details provided. The purpose of providing these details to Drive On Finance is to give them permission to provide you the Customer with relevant financial related services.

Car Inspect may also allow you to submit other content or materials through public postings on the Site. Please be aware that if you disclose personally identifiable information or other sensitive information through such postings on the Site the information will be viewable by others.

The Site may contain web beacons to collect data regarding user traffic patterns. The Site uses cookies to collect information about your computer hardware (desktop, laptop, mobile devices etc.) and software, including but not limited to, referring domains, the type of browser used, operating system software, screen resolutions, colour capabilities, IP addresses and plug-ins. We may collect, or have a third party collect on our behalf, data on the number of visits, paths taken, time spent on the Site, how visitors use and navigate through the Site (examples include, the number and users who visit various pages within the Site, information accessed by such visitors, whether they scroll up or down on particular pages or complete any forms). We may include web beacons in some of our email communications to gauge the effectiveness of our customer communications and marketing campaigns.

If you choose to participate in Car Inspect's surveys while on the Site you may be asked to provide other anonymous demographic information such as zip code, age, gender, preferences and interests.

Use of the Information

Car Inspect uses the information you provide to deliver services requested by you. As more specifically explained under the heading Disclosure of the information to third parties, if you submit a request for information, including a Car Inspect Pre-purchase Vehicle Report, on the Site, you agree that Car Inspect may share the information you submit with third parties, as necessary to respond to your request. You may also receive emails from Car Inspect offering additional Car Inspect products and services and other special offers and promotions related to the used car buying and ownership process.

We use information collected through cookies and web beacons to analyse usage, learn about users and deliver customised content and advertising and uncover ways in which we can improve the Site and make it easier to use. Information provided by visitors to the Site who choose to complete user surveys helps us better understand how visitors to the Site are using Car Inspect information and develop better products and services for you. From time to time, Car Inspect attaches data collected through the Site with third party data to effectively plan customer communications and marketing campaigns and analyse how the Site is used.

Protection of the Information

We maintain administrative, technical and physical safeguards against unauthorized access to the information Car Inspect collects. To protect against unauthorized access to your account, we recommend that you protect your password, log out of your account and close your browser after each use.

Disclosure of the Information to Third Parties

Car Inspect does not sell, trade, rent, or otherwise transfer personally identifiable information to others, except: (i) as provided in this Privacy Statement, (ii) to defend against legal claims or otherwise protect our rights, (ii) as required by law, judicial proceeding, court order, or legal process served on Car Inspect, (iv) for purposes of law enforcement investigations, and/or (v) with your consent. If you submit a request for information through the Site, you agree that Car Inspect may share the information you submit with third parties, as necessary to respond to your request. Such third parties' use or disclosure of the information you submit is subject to their privacy policies and practices and Car Inspect has no control over the subsequent use or disclosure of any information you provide. If Car Inspect offers functionality to share information via email or social media on the Site and you choose to use such functionality, the information you provide may be shared with recipients. Car Inspect may share with third parties, including but not limited to, other users and vendors: (1) information you submit when making a request for a Car Inspect Pre-purchase Vehicle Report, (2) your feedback regarding Car Inspect Services and/or third party products or services, (3) any other content or materials you submit through public posting on the Site, and (4) information derived from the Technician inspection and/or related Car Inspect Pre-purchase Vehicle Report.

We may share non‐personal, anonymous, statistical or demographic information in aggregate form with our advertisers, vendors or other third parties. We may also disclose information collected through cookies and web beacons to our affiliates or to third parties, who may aggregate such online activity information across multiple web sites and may use such information for predictive advertising, measuring the effectiveness of advertising or for other purposes.

Car Inspect uses third party service providers to perform various functions such as providing Car Inspect with vehicle-related data, processing credit card transactions, analysing data, serving advertisements and providing marketing assistance. Although Car Inspect uses its commercially reasonable efforts to contractually obligate its service providers to treat personally identifiable information as confidential, Car Inspect cannot and does not provide any assurances that such providers will agree to accept such an obligation and, with respect to those that do so agree, honour their contractual obligations.

Third Party Links

The Site and emails from Car Inspect may include links to third party web sites and/or the opportunity to share on social media (such as the “Share” or “Like” features on Facebook). Your access to such third party web sites or use of social media features is subject to the privacy policies and practices of those third party web sites and/or social media providers. Car Inspect does not control the collection, use or disclosure of any information on such third party links. You may access the Site through links on third party web sites. By entering the Site through a third party web site you may be allowing such third party's web site to view any information you provide to Car Inspect. If you are concerned about entering through a third party web site, you can access the Site directly at www.carinspect.com.au. Car Inspect is not responsible for the privacy practices or the content of any third party web sites. We encourage you to review the privacy policies of any web sites through which you access the Site or which you access through the Site or Car Inspect emails to better understand such third party web sites' data collection and use practices.

How to Update or Change the Information and Opt Out of Marketing Emails

You may update or change the information pertaining to your account by contacting Car Inspect. You may opt out of receiving promotional emails from Car Inspect when you complete the Car Inspect Pre-purchase Vehicle Report order form, or you may unsubscribe at any time by using the link included on all marketing emails. To unsubscribe from receiving promotional emails from Car Inspect you can simply use the unsubscribe button. If you choose to opt out of receiving promotional emails, you will only receive emails in connection with the Car Inspect services you have requested.

To opt out of receiving targeted content and advertisements on Car Inspect web sites you can change your browser options to stop accepting cookies or to prompt you before accepting a cookie from any web site. You will be able to access and use Car Inspect web sites with cookies disabled, but the user experience may not be customized to your interests and needs.

Updates to this Privacy Statement

We reserve the right to modify this Privacy Statement at any time. Such changes, modifications, additions, or deletions shall be effective immediately upon notice thereof, which may be given by any means including, without limitation, posting on the Site, or by electronic or conventional mail, or by any other means. Any use of the Site by you after such notice shall be deemed to constitute acceptance of such changes, modifications, additions, or deletions.
